CAR RENTAL AGREEMENT - TERMS AND CONDITION
DRIVERS LICENCE
All drivers should hold a valid drivers licence. A current acceptable overseas, New Zealand or international licence is required from intending drivers. At the Manager's discretion, a holder of a licence below the age of 21 is acceptable but may incur a higher insurance excess.
Quick Quote Booking & Enquiries
The Quick Quote bookings and enquiries are subject to availability of vehicles.
RENTAL DURATION
24 hours from time of pick up. Additional hours are coated at the rate of $15 dollars an hour up to two hours and a full day thereafter. Payment is to be made at commencement of hire either by cash, traveller’s cheque or the credit card. Office Hours 8.00am to 4.30 pm After hours service fee of $65 will apply.
Additional hours are coated at the rate of $15 an hour or the daily rate, whichever is lower.
Rental duration is based on 24 hour period. Rental payment is to be made at the commencement of hire either by cash or credit card.
TAX & ACCIDENTS
Goods and service tax is included in the daily hire charges and is subject to an excess of (NZ) $1500 (Excess on Single Car Accident $2500) which the hirer has to pay in case of an accident. Windscreen is not covered by insurance, an actual damage would apply.
COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER
With Quality Car Rental, the hirer can reduce the excess by paying a collision damage waiver (CDW).
Car Rental Bond
A bond is required on all rentals. You will be asked to sign a separate security bond into the form of a credit card imprint, or give $500 cash deposit. This bond is held by Quality Car Rentals and is not banked. The Bond is a guarantee that the vehicle will be returned on time and in the condition that it was hired by Quality Car Rentals.
EARLY RETURNS AND EXTENSION
There is no refund for early rental returns. Extension may be refused by the drop off branch if the vehicle is booked for another client. If the vehicle is not booked , there shouldn’t be any problem extending the rental.

CHILD AND BABY SEATS
Child seats are now compulsory on New Zealand roads (under 5) and may be hired from our branches. Please order at time of reservation stating age of child so correct size may be booked. All child seats are subject to availability.
SNOW CHAINS
Available at Picton and Christchurch – Advance booking is required
Ferry
Ferry are non-refundable. If you cancel the booking you still have to pay the ferry.
CANCELLATION OF CONFIRMED BOOKING
15% is charged on any cancellation on confirmed rental bookings. Full amount will be charged if the booking is cancelled within 7 days.
TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS AND PARKING INFRINGEMENT
Clients will be charged $50 administration fee if any infringement notice is received
AA ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE
Provided 24 hours but if it is a driver /hirer fault than driver/ hirer will have to pay, A callout fee of $85 may be demanded before Support is despatched.
